Caravaggio e la Resurrezione di Lazzaro
Modern Art (from the XV to the XIX century)
The Raising of Lazarus is the first painting by Caravaggio completed in Messina between 1608 and 1609. The painting was destined for the church of the Padri Crociferi and commissioned by the wealthy Genoese merchant Giovanni Battista Lazzari. On the occasion of the restoration funded by the Associazione Culturale Metamorfosi and carried out by the Istituto Centrale del Restauro, the canvas will be on display for the first time ever in Rome at Palazzo Braschi.
